Summer Escape Mommy and Me Outfits

Which are your top favorites in the Summer Escape launch?

This swing dress has to be one of our personal picks!

Inspired by the soft flowy fabric, we wanted to create a piece that feels as good as it looks! The swing design is extra special because you can size up for a maxi dress length, wear it as a midi/mini skirt and when you out grow that size, it still fits as a swing top!!

We love how Friska and Elora styled it here, resort style for an afternoon stroll on the beach! Transports us from everyday life to vacay in two seconds!

Thanks for sharing these pictures with us! And we need deets on that pompom hair clip!! It’s perfect!!

Le Petit Society – Summer Escape Runway Show

Together with the launch of our new collection, we put together a runway show which we thought was the best mix of fashion, kids and a bit of fun!

After weeks of hardwork with Motherswork, we transform their flagship store in Great World City into a stage for our models to #walktherunway.

Instead of hiring models, we reached into our pool of followers and customers and organized a little #walkthesummerescape contest on Instagram and Facebook! Did you join in the fun? We were so thankful for the people who came forward. And there was absolutely no clue on the runway that they weren’t in fact professionals!

Of course we couldn’t have done it alone! We got a few lovely sponsors together. Melissa and Converse sponsored shoes for the little models, C’est Moi had a make up station, Da Little School had an art station that was so on theme we couldn’t have done better ourselves.

We were also grateful that Motherswork set up the cutest dessert table which had our little models gathered around like bees to honey!

Each time we have a Le Petit Society event, it feels like a massive family gathering. We were grateful to see so many old and new faces gathered together celebrating our little milestones!

The little ones (and their parents) did so good! We won’t be surprised to see them one day on the international runway. We will be sure to say “We saw them take their first steps with us at Le Petit Society!!” like proud mamas!

We have so many pictures that we will be photo-spamming our Instagram account and Facebook page for the next week! To see more pictures of our event, please click here.

Special thanks to the crew at Motherswork for making it happen!! And to all our lovely customers, runway models and supporters, thank you for being part of our family! We hope you love the Summer Escape collection!

Nose in the Book :: Summer Reads

The heat is upon us! And if your kids love the idea of soaking up the sun, here are some reads of activities that will spur them onwards and outwards!

Summer Activities #1

Key Words with Peter and Jane: Fun at the farm by W. Murray

The Key Words with Peter and Jane series from Ladybird Books is a great tool for building your little one’s vocabulary. This particular book follows Peter and Jane as they take up various tasks at the farm, and it is sure to provide a fascinating tale for any inquisitive mind.

Oliver’s Tree by Kit Chase

This unassuming tale of Oliver’s Tree is about three animals playing hide-and-seek holds a deeper lesson of the true meaning of friendship and support. Toddlers and pre-schoolers will definitely be charmed and amused by the plot.

Summer Activities #3

The Berenstain Bears: We Like Kites by Stan Berenstain

Which child wouldn’t love the idea of running across hills and plains on a windy day and seeing his or her kite flying high up in the sky? The rhyming story and colourful pictures (including all the different kite designs) will fascinate kindergarteners and make for a good bedtime read. You can find The Berenstain Bears: We Like Kites here!

Arthur Goes to Camp by Marc Brown

Arthur Goes to Camp introduces older school-going children to camp activities, such as pitching tents, building campfires and games such as treasure hunts. It also explores the different personalities and their reactions during the camping trip, which surely makes it an interesting adventure that your little one will enjoy!

Summer Activities #2

Curious George Rides a Bike by H.A. Rey

The loveable George has another adventure when he receives a bicycle as a present and spends the day out riding it. In spite of his mischievous ways causing trouble for others, George eventually saves the day and is forgiven. A delightful tale – Curious George Rides a Bike is a great read for any kindergartener!

We hope these reads will inspire your little ones to head outdoors!

Brands we Love :: Rockin’ Baby

Le Petit Society most recently reorganized our website for easier shopping! There is now a “Brands We Love” section featuring some of the brands and products that we personally like. We hope to build on this list to introduce greater things to you. So feel free to drop us a note at if you know of any other brands you’d like to see in-store!

Today, we’d like to share a little on why we carry the brand Rockin’ Baby. Rockin’ Baby – a childrenswear label with a social cause. Their “You Buy, We Give” tagline speaks about their one-for-one philanthropic business model, where a piece of newly manufactured clothing is gifted to a child in need globally for every Rockin’ Baby purchase made. By working with ChildFund International, which has impacted 18 million children across 30 countries to date, Rockin’ Baby ensures that their reach is wide and meaningful.

Here is how they go about their commitment of gifting. Each season, Rockin’ Baby collates the total numbers of items it has sold. ChildFund International is then informed of the quantity sold before it proceeds to choose pieces from the Hero Collection, which features unisex and brightly coloured designs. Rockin’ Baby then proceeds to manufacture the brand new clothing, which are subsequently delivered to ChildFund International for the latter to distribute to children in need globally.  If you’d like to find out more about their cause, please refer to the Rockin’ Baby website here for more information. As a business, we recognize and respect the efforts that are invested in this cause.

More than just another childrenswear brand, it is Rockin’ Baby’s commitment to a social cause that touched out hearts. Needless to say, their pieces (here on Le Petit Society) are well made and fits beautifully on our kids. We are also huge fans of their swimwear here and here.

We’d love to hear what you think of this brand and Happy Shopping!

Seen on Oh Joy Blog!

If you’re also a huge fan of Oh Joy!, as we all are over here at Le Petit Society, you would understand the excitement of seeing our clothes featured on your favorite blog of all times!!

In collaboration with Ergobaby, Joy talks about their adventures to the Farmer’s Market and how they make an Eton Mess with both kids in tow!

Ruby’s tee shirt dress from Le Petit Society

Doesn’t this look scrummy? with all the little helpers’ hand too!!

5 DIY Crafts – Summer Crafts

Summer time is a time of fun and exploration and spending time in the outdoors! Many a times we worry about our children when they travel and if they will get bored! Should we be bringing their toys! But there’s tonnes of fun and inspiration to be had on the go.

Here are five favorite crafts that can be made on the go!

This whimsical floral crown from The House that Lars Built is gorgeous and simple and links up to a few ways to make floral crowns. My favorite is the one that needs a snippy pair of scissors and flowers. That’s it!! Send the kiddies to pick up flowers along the way and link it into a floral crown! Might have to add that to our to-do list this summer!

Turn leaves into little art pieces!! The world is your oyster… pebbles, shells, twigs would also work! Then peg them up into a garland that would make a great gift for someone or a cute reminder of your summer! And if you’re particularly adverse to painting and the possible mess it brings… even this garland from Martha Stewart is super cute!

We’ve been bookmarking these adorable Nature dolls from Mer Mag! All you need is a pieces of paper, a pen/pencil (to sketch) and some child-like inspiration to make dresses, and capes and beautiful petal filled backdrops!

1 Cardboard cactus construction set

Never too late to jump on the cactus craze bandwagon! Here’s a DIY Cardboard Cactus tutorial from Pink Stripey Socks to show you how!

{from pimpelwit}

How about a playroom update inspired by one of the sticks your kid insists on lugging home? All you need is a few craft box, and some toys lying around!! Little animals, Lego figurines or small plush toys would work too!!

Hope you get your hands a little dirty and tag us at #lepetitsociety if you make any of these gorgeous crafts!
